DURHAM -- Durham Region Health Department has eight H1N1 vaccination clinics open.
- Port Perry at the Scugog Community Recreation Centre (Reach Street), open Mondays and Tuesdays from 2-8 p.m. on a drop-in basis.
- Cannington at the Brock Community Health Centre, open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2-8 p.m. by appointment. Call 705-432-3388.
All other clinics open Monday to Friday 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Whitby at 3050 Garden St., (Garden St. and Rossland Rd. E.)
- Pickering Town Centre (lower level near food court)
- Oshawa - 850 King St. W., Unit 26 (King St. W and Thornton Rd.)
- Uxbridge - 2 Douglas Rd. (Toronto St. S. and Douglas Rd.)
- The new Bowmanville site is the vacant Rona building, at 205 Baseline Rd., at Regional Rd. 57. The hours remain 2 to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Pregnant women less than 20-weeks pregnant with no chronic medical conditions are recommended to receive a unadjuvanted version of the vaccine. It is anticipated that unadjuvanted vaccine will be available by mid-November.
It is anticipated the clinics will operate until Nov. 28, with the possibility of extending clinic dates if necessary. The Health Department is also currently working with area health care providers to make the H1N1 vaccine more widely available in the community.
